Bil Bil Castle, Benalmádena: the red castle 10 minutes from our door
A red Moorish-style castle on the seafront promenade, 600 m from the apartment what it is and when to go.

Bil Bil Castle is a red, Moorish-style building on the seafront promenade of Benalmádena Costa, 600 metres from Benal Beach Apartments, about a 10 minute walk.
What it is Despite the look, it is not medieval: it was built in 1934 as a private villa in neo-Arabic style and later bought by the town. Today it holds temporary exhibitions and civil weddings, so what is inside depends on the week. The outside is the real draw, ochre red walls against palms and open sea.
Getting there from the apartment Turn left onto the promenade with the sea on your right and keep going: 600 m of flat paving, fine with a pushchair or wheelchair, passing Bil Bil beach on the way.
Good to know - Walking around the outside is free; going inside depends on the current exhibition or event. - The terrace beside it has benches and shade a good pause on an evening walk. - Promenade restaurants start right next door, so it pairs well with dinner.
Best time to go Late afternoon into sunset. In summer the walk is far more pleasant after 19:00, and the castle is lit at night.
