Four pools, three slides: how the Benal Beach pool area works
What is in the pool area, which pool suits which kind of day, and when everything actually opens through the year.

The pool area is the reason many guests choose an apartment inside the Benal Beach complex rather than a flat on the coast road. It is free for guests, it is a two minute walk from the door, and it is big enough that you are not fighting for a sun lounger in August. Here is how it is laid out and, more usefully, when each part is actually open.
The four pools
Grande The main pool, and the one that stays open longest. Through July and August it runs until 21:00, and on Saturdays in those two months until midnight, worth knowing if you like swimming after dinner.
Sirena The second large pool. It follows the same summer hours as Grande and opens earlier in the season than the boat pool.
Barco The boat-themed pool, with its own slide. It is the most seasonal of the four: closed through winter and spring, weekends only in June and September, and open daily only in July and August.
Pequeña The shallow pool for small children, next to the larger ones so you can keep an eye on everyone from the same lounger.
The water slides
Three slides serve the pool area — Barco, Grande and Sirena. They do not all run at once: the Sirena slide opens earliest in the year, in short morning and afternoon sessions, while the Barco and Grande slides only start in the shoulder season at weekends and go daily in high summer, when the sessions get longer.
What that means for your dates
Winter (November to March) only the Sirena pool open, 11:00 to 17:00. Slides closed. Fine for a swim, not a pool holiday.
Easter to the end of May three pools open 11:00 to 19:00, Sirena slide in two sessions a day.
June and September pools from 10:00 to 20:00, the boat pool and most slides at weekends.
July and August everything open, pools 10:00 to 21:00, slides through the day until 20:30.
The exact timetable, row by row, is on the facilities page.
A few practical things
Access to the pools, slides and gardens is included in your stay at no extra cost — you are not paying a resort fee on top. There is a supermarket inside the complex about 50 metres from the door for water and sun cream, and a pool bar for when nobody wants to cook. The pool area is run by the Benal Beach community rather than by us, so hours can be adjusted from year to year; message us before you book and we will confirm what is running on your dates.
